Cute little scrappy calendar!

I came across this cute little calendar while surfing the net. It was simple enough to whip up quickly and easily.

It is in a different language but just hit translate on the pop up bar.

I started with a piece of cardstock that looks like a brown paper bag  in color. Then I went through my scrap cut bag and pulled out all kinds of leftover cuts to decorate the pages. The background print cardstock is all from my left over drawer.

The calendar pages were a free print off of the net.

This little calendar is perfect for a desk. I loved how it turned out and it's easily put together in an hour!

Easy crochet slippers with a flower

Once again, Pinterest came to the rescue to help me find an easy slipper to start getting back into crochet. This simple slipper pattern was easy to work up. It just needed some dressing up! So, I made three pairs to donate to charity for their fund raiser to buy hospital equipment.

Women's Crochet Ballet Slipper

It's a free pattern and I loved how they turned out! Whatever stitch I couldn't remember how to do, I looked up on Youtube for lots of videos to teach me how or to refresh my memory. Super easy!

Here are the links for the flowers and heart, free patterns:

It took me a few tries to get the flowers and hearts done correctly. Crochet user error! I have made simple afghans but slippers are new to me!

I'm really pleased how they turned out!

These boots are made for walking....

While surfing Pinterest, these boots caught my eye. I tracked them down to an Etsy shop:

The Lovely Crow

I paid for then downloaded the pattern. I was soooo excited to be able to create footwear for a certain young lady for her first birthday!

This is the yarn I used, double strand:

It worked up beautifully and the boot is nice and thick.

This is my finished product. I am so pleased! The pattern was easy to follow! The heart pattern is not included, but you can get it for free here:

Heart Pattern

The most tedious and time consuming part of making these was weaving in all the ends!

The boot pattern came in several sizes for baby and small toddler. The pattern was easy to read and wonderful to follow. The final product was perfect! I will be making more of these!

This is my layout that I created especially for this hop:

This layout is not a conventional Valentine's Day layout. I like to use a lot of different colors in my themes and I like my layouts to be more on the simple side rather than ornate.

I began with the background paper coming from the Garden Vignettes stack by My Mind's Eye. It appealed to me because it reminded me of a page that had been mod podged.  The cardstock comes from the super packs of cardstock that you can buy at Walmart. I like it because it's on the lighter side weight wise and does not make my pages as bulky. My preferences are flat pages so that they lay better in the photo albums.

The lettering is from Quarter Note, one of my all time favorite carts. It has beautiful cuts and I love the alphabet lettering style! The word "music" is cut at 1.5 inches, "of the" is cut at 1 inch and "Heart" is cut at 2 inches. All were cut on my  Cricut E2 which cuts flawlessly.

The rhinestone flourishes are from Recollections Signature that I picked up at Michaels on clearance. It had a crocheted flower in the center which did not suit the page, in my opinion, so I cut around it and replaced with tiny paper flowers from the Recollections Signature series. The flowers needed centers and so I had some left over pearls from another project and I used those to complete the layout.

Please leave a comment and become a follower to be eligible to win the blog prize: A $25 gift card at either Custom Crops or Hallmark Scrapbooking....winner's choice! Draw is on Friday, February 14th!
